2024 Taft Ave Gravel Overlay Project

On Friday, July 12th, local farmers and the Town of Plover collaberated to lay over 2,000 tons of gravel on a mile long section of Taft Avenue.  This is the second summer that the farmers and the Town have engaged in this joint project to add more material to the surface of Taft Avenue.  This year the following farmers contributed 9 trucks and drivers:

Hamerski Farms

Mortenson Brothers

Okray Family Farms

Worzella and Sons

Wysocki Farms

In addition to the help from the farmers,  5 trucks and drivers were hired by the Town to haul gravel from the Arnott gravel pit to Taft Ave.  In total, 113 round trips were made between the gravel pit and Taft Avenue in a seven hour time period.  We look foward to working together again in the future to improve our rural roads.  This collaberation allows us to expand the amount of road that can be improved within our budget constraints.
